Tak Yamamoto LA Automotive Museum 1 of 10

Project Brief:
To research, design, and build a scale model of an automotive museum. The museum will foster innovative architectural concepts, building materials, and environments that will capture the spirit of the automobile and bring progress to modern architecture. Although a privately funded collection, it will allow viewing to the public.

Solution:
A 1/87th scale model measuring 5’ x 2’ x 2’. The complex is five stories high, four of which are embedded inside a mountainside. An innovative escalator support is secondary to the central tower that rises through the entire structure to be admired by Los Angelenos. Automotive influences like artists sweeps, wheel spokes, space frames, and winding roads can be found throughout the architecture of the building.
